And the Nominees Are…

3 12 2009

Last night, in a schmultzy, confusing , poorly executed “concert format”, the Nominees for this year’s Grammys were announced. Seriously, they now make a SHOW for reading the nominations. The people performing were Grammy “hopefuls”, but not necessarily nominated…(wink wink) and the unveiling of the Jonas solo project (the cute one performed, the other two cheered form the audience in pure spite). It was unnessesary, redunant and yet another venue for a Jackson tribute…I kid you not.

As you can see, It’s a big year for Beyonce (who had one of the BEST videos of all time…), Taylor Swift (shock and awe!), The Black Eyed Peas (with the anthem of the year really…) and Lady Gaga (the weird one…). And it shows that being public enemy number one and D-bag of the year (even your president thinks so Kanye…) does not bode well for nominations…He had a new album this year…no individual Noms. Interesting.

Well, the show airs January 31st…which gives me lots of time to prepare my forecasting thesis on the winners.
