Wednesday Recap

25 03 2010

20 Second (give or take…I dont discriminate against slow readers)  recaps from last night’s eliminations:

American Idol:

  • Mileys back…again, her PR team has done a fabulous job getting her air time on every show on TV to promote her new film. Today she’ll be appearing as a cadavor on CSI….I kid.
  • ANd her (Disney Barbie and Ken) teen-scream buddies, Joe (yes thats my face on your lunchbox) Jonas and Demi (I’m dating the lunchbox face) Lovato.
  • Bottom three as it should…all is finally right in the world: Paige, Tim and Katie (I guess we cant swing a triple elimination?)
  • At long last…Paige is eliminated. Her cringe-inducing performance last night put her over the edge.
  • The saddest part of all this, she narrowly misses the Top 10 which means, she was one spot away from: a trip around the world, rockstar treatment, hair and makeup, free cars, 13 year old groupies, and all the Coca Cola one could drink.
  • I did however like that Simon cut the charade of ‘pretending to deliberate using the SAVE card“…its such a sham, you KNOW they have one or two people in mind that they would EVER use that save on (ahem: Crystal, Siobhan…)

  • It’s been 2 weeks…thank goodness for recaps. (briefly: Tom went home last week, Colby is a loner, JAmes is hurt, Russel hates Rob, Parvati is hot)
  • Jeff announces a DOUBLE Elimination (what is this…the Bachelor?) – one going home form each team, therefore, individual immunity is at stake.
  • James’ bum leg is the topic of conversation at the challenge…but he did outperform Colby.
  • Candice wins for the Heroes.
  • Rob wins for the Villains.
  • Head to head…Rob handly beats out Candice for reward (hotdogs and ‘softdrinks’- no brand affiliation, are we to assume they were drinking no name cola?)
  • Russel and Rob go mano a mano trying to outwit eachother…its so entertaining to watch a battle of wits…with two masters of the art!
  • Russel preys on the weaker minds: like telling Tyson to stray from Robs plan…convincing him he was voting WITH them.
  • At Tribal Council: Rob gave everyone their roles…but Tyson went out on his own…shooting himself in the foot.
voting went like this: 3 Tyson, 3 Parvati and 2 Russel….but Parvati was given the immunity.
  • Tyson goes home.
  • The heroes only had two options: James with a bum leg and Colby with a bum spirit.
  • James goes home.

Watch out for the inevitable Recap episode, if not next week, certainly the week after. (collective Survivor fan sigh…)

Sunday Night TV

21 03 2010

Not much a lowly TV Blogger can do if there aint a thing on! Such was the case last night…

But tonight is sunday night folks…and there will be more to watch tonight than primetime thursday this week (i’m still a little bitter…). So embrace the ‘cold snap’…stay in!

Here’s What I’m watching tonight:

Watch Cyndi Lauper and her ladies fight off Brett Michaels and his dudes (he totally has his eye on the models and ex-models on the gals side…he’s probably even go for Sharon if she wasnt married to a bat-eater). Tune in tonight, 9pm NBC

Amazing Race:
This show never gets old, and of course…in a show filled with stereotypes…I’m totally going for the Cowboys! (like they really exist…psssh) TUne in tonight CBS 8pm

Jamie Olivers Food Revolution:
Starting in the Fattest city in America…(theres a good moniker…I bet thats on their population sign.) Jamie Oliver will try to infuse some healthy lifestyle ideals into American homes. Sigh…a losing battle…but a nice gesture. Premieres tonight 10 pm ABC.

Some good choices eh?

Whatever you decide to watch, have a great TV Night.

Thursday TV Night…

11 03 2010

your reward for sitting through Jason and Mollys wedding on monday…and somehow managing to make it past another wednesday- your gift, is thursday night TV. I’m serious, get out of any plan you’ve made for this evening. Stay home- join me and my couch for a TV threesome.

Here’s what I’m watching tonight:

American Idol Results:
If you were underwhelmed by the boys and girls nights this week…tonight we get rid of 4 more contestants (never to be heard from again…unless we see them on next seasons DWTS). So last week, you gave me a pardon because it was my birthday…but tonight, I’m going out on a limb again to predict tonights…departees.

Girls: Lacey and Paige
Guys: Aaron and Todrick

It’s harder to make a prediction for the guys…because there werent any major standouts, therefore not alot of ‘definites’. I think Aaron chose the wrong song last night, and doesnt have the ‘cute’ factor to stick around much longer. And I think Todrick will suffer from a lackluster performance last week, and a (marginally improved) campy performance this week. I am pretty confident with my female selections (neither were impressive) , but I wouldnt bet my house or any member of the family on my male choices. We shall see… tune in for the results tonight at 8pm FOX/CTV

How can you NOT be watching this show? It’s a fantastic season with all the best pitted against each other. Tonight’s episode is cryptic (as usual), apparantly an unusual alliance is formed and a plan is hatched to get rid of one of the strongest players. ooooo….intriguing (but that could literally be the summary for every episode). With Cirie gone, Amanda will definitly be scrambling and the Colby/Tom team is finally safe…will they now be the power players? Russel is getting sick of Boston Rob’s dominance- maybe he and Parvati boot him? I think you know how I would feel about that! Tune in tonight, 8pm CBS/Global

Greys Anatomy:
So the Chief/Ex Chief is back performing routine surgeries (does this not make you think about all the surgeons out there who are recovering alcoholics…and if by chance you might land one for a ‘routine’ life altering surgery in their first week back? Just saying…). This week Owen and the ex Chief fight over surgeries (I’ll take the army doctor over the rehab-ing alchy…please!) Question…where the mother is Izzy? If she is going to make a comeback, they better do it soon… I’m starting not to care. Watch it tonight, 9pm ABC/CTV

Other options:
NBC comedy Thursday- The Office, Parks and Rec and 30 Rock, starts at 8:30 NBC
Marriage Ref- NBC 10pm (
I was skeptical, but this is actually a mildly entertaining hour-blower)
CSI-  CBS 9pm

Whatever you decide to watch, have a great TV Night.

The Week in TV

6 02 2010

on a lazy saturday, with only the superbowl to look forward to… I think it’s interesting to see the TV rating for this week. What did YOU watch?

10 BONES FOX 7.3

Pretty obvious that CBS and FOX are running the show week after week… NBC doesnt even crack the top 10. ABC is kept afloat by The Bachelor (sad really…). Things should change slightly this week with the SUPERBOWL and OLYMPICS starting, NBC has their exclusive Olympic deal- will that pull them out of the weeds?
I sanyone else shocked that Two and a Half men is still pulling such huge audiences? It’s mind boggling…but apparantly I’m one of few that feel that way.

Check in next week for results, will Idol remain on top ? (it IS Ellen’s debut week). Will the Olympics or Superbowl reign supreme?

Happy Monday

1 02 2010

After CBS stole the TV audience last night at The Grammys, ABC can’t wait for…Bachelor Monday to sweep the night! I’ve hardly had time to recooperate from last nights drama (namely, Gaga’s lightning bolt dress), and I now head into the ‘most dramatic’ night of TV!

Here’s what I’m watching tonight:

The Bachelor-
Obviously. But how can Jake ( the producers) trump last week’s thriller, where Jake sent a total of 4 girls home?! How about the promise of a ‘startling revelation’ from one of the girls? Or how about a 2 on 1 date pitting Gia vs Vienna (Satan’s little sister), where one stays and one goes home? Well, both those scenarios happen tonight on an all new, dramatic overload…who says Monday cant be amazing?! Tune in tonight, ABC 8pm.

Those of us living north of the 49th parallel love to live in Miami vicariously through this beautiful CSI team…and really, who wouldnt want to be Horatio for a day. If I could get away with saying HALF the mello-dramatic cliches he does, I’d be a pretty cool cat. At any rate, Delko returns tonight, and the team tries to prove a man on death row innocent before he gets ‘the chair’. Tune in (after the Bachelor, how handy!) CBS/CTV 10pm

Whatever you decide to watch, have a great TV Night.
